SUMMARY:  My tables always end up filling the text column width, how do I stop that?
ISSUE:  By default (in both FM DITA and DITA-FMx) after saving and reopening a file, tables will stretch to fill the width of the text column.
SOLUTION:  In the rules file (near the end of the file) is the rule ..

    writer use proportional widths;

you'll need to comment this out to use "fixed" widths for the columns rather than proportional widths. Additionally, in DITA-FMx, there's a ForceTablesWide setting in the ditafmx.ini file) that you'll need to set to 0. This is provided because in certain situations the "pgwide" attribute isn't working properly and this setting was added to overcome this limitation (looked like a core FM bug but it's hard to say since it was only intermittent).

Note that making this change will affect all tables .. there's no way to have it both ways.
