SUMMARY:  How do I link from an xref to a PDF?
ISSUE:  At times it's necessary to create a link from the current topic to a location in another PDF.
SOLUTION:  Insert an xref or link element and set the @href attribute to one of the following values.

To target a specific page in the PDF use this (where "PAGENO" is the page number) ..

    href="http://www.example.com//myfile.pdf#page=PAGENO"

Or this to target a specific named destination in the PDF (where "DEST" is the named destination) ..

    href="http://www.example.com//myfile.pdf#DEST"

Also, be sure to set the @scope attribute to "external".
